The core workspace features are available to explore and use today, with further improvements, refinements and new functionality planned for future updates. 

As an early release, you may encounter the occasional bug or feature that needs polishing. Your feedback, ideas and suggestions are very welcome and will help shape what Rune becomes.

Rune includes local AI assistance to help you develop ideas, organise information, create content and generate original images. The AI runs directly on your computer, without requiring external AI subscriptions or API keys.

Built with a local-first approach, Rune keeps your work on your own machine. You can also create interactive Live Pages — including polls, shared checklists and idea collectors — for people connected to the same local network.

No complicated setup, no mandatory cloud account, and no need to structure your thinking around someone else's workflow.

Important: Rune runs its AI models locally on your computer. A dedicated graphics card isn't required, but performance will vary depending on your hardware.

During initial setup, Rune automatically downloads the AI models it needs. Please allow additional storage space and time for this process.

Licensing & Commercial Use

Rune is available for both personal and commercial use.

Each purchase provides a licence for one named user, who may install Rune on multiple personally used computers.

For businesses and organisations, a separate licence is required for each employee or individual using Rune. A single purchase does not permit company-wide deployment or sharing between multiple users.

Redistribution, resale or sublicensing of Rune is not permitted without written permission from JSONWorks.
